Kale Pesto Pizza!

Little cooks will learn how to make a brilliant pizza base, that they can make again and again! It has the added bonus of containing milled flax and chia seeds which gives it some omega 3 loveliness! Then turn one of life's most nuritious vegetables into delicious pesto with a surprise ingredient! And once all the pizza making fun has been had, little cooks can find a spot outside to grow their very own kale, ready to turn into pesto when it's ready to harvest.

What you need to know

Recipe ingredients

All of the dry organic ingredients are included in the kit. You'll need to add:

  • 40g kale
  • 40g parmesan
  • 80ml olive oil
  • 100g grated cheese
  • 200g passata

Recipe allergens

The ingredients in the kit contain gluten (spelt flour).

The recipe also suggests including cheese, but vegan alternatives can be used.

Please note that our kits are packed in premises that handle cereals, nuts (including peanuts), soya, sesame and products containing gluten

To make this recipe you'll need:

  • 2 x baking trays
  • Blender
  • Mixing bowl and spoon
  • Chopping board and knife
  • Pastry brush

Grow your own kale

Kale is one of the easiest (and most nutritious!) vegetables to grow. It provides an endless supply of dark green leaves - the most you pick the more it supplies! Plus there is a deeeelicious kale crisps recipe included in the kit that you HAVE to try with your homegrown kale!

When your kale is ready to harvest you will have an abundant supply, and these crisps are a perfect way to use it up! Even fussy eaters cannot believe how crisp like these are - they are crunchy and munchy and yummy!
